My Story

In 2008 I had the idea that I could make my own candles after buying candles from a local candle store on the regular. One day, I thought, “why not try to make your own since you love them so much.” After doing some research, I purchased some supplies. My first candle did not turn out so good. I tried and tried but I could not get them right so I gave up.

About a year later, it was on  my heart to give it another shot so I did even more research. This go round I got better results. I made some for my family to try and they liked them. On the high of this confidence boost, I asked my sister if she wanted to go into business together. In 2009 she & I went in half on some supplies. We got a business license and started selling to family and friends. We actually did really well for several years & started making other products as well. Unfortunately business got slow and we decided to close.

Fast forward a couple years & I found myself needing something to do. This is when I decided to teach myself to knit. Needless to say, using two needles didn't work out so well for me (eek)! I turned to crochet as an alternative. Starting out with a loom, I made my first hat. It wasn’t perfect but I was absolutely in love with it! So I went out and bought a hook & some more yarn. Around October 2016, I posted my first crochet hat by hand on Facebook. To my delight, people started asking if I could make them one! I did & that is how my crochet business began. I was so glad that my offerings were received well because I enjoyed crocheting so much. The bonus is that it provided a way for me to help bring in a little money to help take care of my family.

I have four wonderful children. Three boys and a girl. I haven’t really worked outside of the home much since I had my first son in 2005. My husband & I don’t really trust people to care for them like we would. so we agreed it was best not to put them in daycare. Being able to stay home with them and have a business doing the things I love have been & continue to be a huge blessing to me. I love being able to show them in real time how a goal + hard work produce results!

I enjoy making things by hand. It’s a great feeling knowing I made something by hand & from the heart that others are able to enjoy. Even better, is the feeling that comes from knowing you made a baby's first blanket or their first outfit for photos. I really appreciate parents allowing me to have a small part in some of their special memories and moments. Since having my daughter,  I’ve ventured more & more into baby & toddler items. She has been such an inspiration for me to branch out in ways I don’t know that I would have otherwise.

Tamese’s Creations is a labor of love, dedication, & quality. Today it is candles, melts, & beautiful crochet creations. Tomorrow, who knows. One thing is constant - I give my all in all I do & it is a privilege to create for every single client.
